5th Street Bridge

Yuba County, California   |    Connecting Yuba City and Marysville

The 5th Street Bridge Replacement Project is Yuba City’s largest and most complex multi-agency public works project to date replacing the now functionally obsolete two lane bridge built in 1958. The goal of replacing the 5th Street Bridge is to enhance public safety and upgrade this vital arterial facility with Caltrans standards and reduce travel delays in and around the project area by adding two additional through lanes across the Feather River.

The project also includes three new traffic signals, wider roadways, new access ramps, relocation of existing utilities, improvements to adjacent pedestrian access, bicycle trails, levee access, removal and replacement of trees in floodways, retaining walls and concrete barriers, earthwork, paving and landscaping. This project includes the demolition of the existing 5th Street Bridge and two additional bridges.

In Spring 2017, CTA Engineering & Surveying began working closely with the general contractor. Surveying services include construction staking, monitoring and quality control. “It’s large county projects like this that allow CTA to be part of improving the overall quality of life of people who depend on safe and convenient roadways,” said Brian Frazier, Vice President of CTA.
